Gabriel does not strike me as someone who has learned any sort of emotional coping skills; when facing the unexpected he literally does not know what to do or feel, which added to the self-righteousness complex is kind of coming out as uncontrollable rage right now ^^; I think you're right that he can't move with ineffability, he's too *rigid* for it, but then none of us love ineffability -_-;
And considering they're two (by Earthly standards) all-powerful beings, they are also dear useless idiots, and do not cope well with a golem apparently ^^;
