I feel a little guilty I'm commenting on this before I've had a chance to comment on the most recent chapters but I wanted your first comment to be a positive one. Thank you for sharing this, Rainjoy. Truly. You continue to make me *seriously* think about this world we are living in and how our actions and words can affect it, even when you're not posting fic. To be honest, I stopped watching the show after season one and from everything I've heard, I'm glad I did. Even just knowing the characters from that and then reading your interpretations, I still feel that betrayal you mentioned, even though I know your affinity!verse Porthos wouldn't stand for it. It's hard to reconcile the version of Porthos I've formed from your stories with the canon and you're right--it feels wrong to try. I wouldn't want anyone who has been in that situation to see any defense of that character's actions. What you've laid out here is very clearly abuse and it's important for fandom to listen to that. I understand your reasonings for how you'll write them in the future and I think it's an admirable decision of you to make, though I'm sure it was a tough one (Also though, you've made me love Athos so much, I'll adapt quickly lol). I love you so much, Rainjoy, and I'm glad you feel comfortable enough to share your feelings with us virtual strangers. Please always feel free to do so, because if nothing else, I damn well learn something new about myself every time you post :) and I want you to feel secure in that you have friends out here even if we've never met.
